In 2003, Hussam Abdel Zaher Foundation was founded by Mr. Hussam Abdel Zaher with a branded subsidiary named Noon Art. Noon Art produces an innovative range of wooden and copper household accessories using Arabic calligraphy with a standpoint of modern minimalism and the grace of oriental Arabic Art.
Noon Art is a pioneer in using Arabic calligraphy carved on wood and brass. Our products are modern and minimalist connected with Arabic ornament art. Even though minimalism was a movement born to reject the social and cultural constrains of Baroque and Renaissance, it has also lost sight of the fact that even the wildest imagination must be guided by an absolute and a normative principle inspired from its own culture.
Our designs have elaborate Arabic calligraphy carving that is perfectly contrasted with the fresh crudeness of material texture releasing minimalism from its original trap and injecting it with a cultural element taken a step further.
The foundation supports youth in developing their creative handicrafts ideas in order to develop their own independent projects. It also provides great opportunities for people of determination, so that they can better integrate into society and be able to earn their livelihood with their own hands. It also provides job opportunities for marginalized people in rural areas and offers them tools and materials to produce the handicrafts products from their home and pays them fair wages in return.
